A peptide analogue can share a research lineage with a longer signaling molecule while retaining its own structure. Its terminal modifications and source record are essential parts of that identity.

The published research lineage

A 2010 Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism paper reports a pooled analysis of two studies and their extension data. This is one identifiable milestone in the compound’s literature. It should be cited as a study of a defined investigational material, not as validation of every research vial sold under a related name.

The terminal groups are part of the structure

The reference structure has a 44-residue chain with an N-terminal modification and a C-terminal amide. The specifications preserve those details rather than presenting an ordinary residue sequence as a complete description of the molecule.
